The 6th Step to Creating Riches




I am continuing to study Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, I believe you can never stop learning from Dr. Hill and his insights. This week I am studying chapter 7 on Organized Planning. We've already discussed how Everything starts with a Desire. This with creative Imagination you can go on to create a Plan.

How do you create a Plan?

*Ally yourself with a group to create plans. This is your mastermind group. This is essential to your success. Meet with them twice a week to discuss goals what you want to achieve.

*Decide what benefits you can offer your group. What can you bring to the table?

*Maintain harmony with everyone in the group.

See that your plans are approved by your group. Most people will meet failure at the point, you have to cooperate with everyone. I imagine many fail at this point because they allow their greed and ego to cloud their vision.


Your plans have to be sound. If your plan didn't work, rethink it and create a new one. Keep trying until you have reached your plan and are receiving the results you want. Many well known inventors tried thousands of times before they finally created their finished product. Many that we still use today.


There are 2 types of people: Leaders and Followers. It is good to begin by following and learning as much as you can to become that Leader. It is of no credit to remain a follower, but continue growing and learning to create the leader and person you want to become.


There were MANY things taught in this chapter about WHAT a leader is.

*Unwavering courage based on the knowledge of oneself. No follower wants to follow a leader who lacks in self courage.

*Self-control. The person who can't control himself can't control his followers.

*Sense of Justice

*Does not waver in making decisions.

*A leader must know his plan and work at his plan. He does not guess.


*He is willing to do more than he asks of his followers.
*Pleasing personality.

*Sympathy of followers.

*Mastery of detail.

*Leader assumes all responsibility of his followers

*Cooperation with the group

Hill says there are 2 types of Leaders: Those that Demand Leadership and those that are respected as Leaders, they sympathize with their followers.


There are many more points in this chapter but there is something that I want to draw attention to. Hill says we need to be thankful for our followers. I can really appreciate this because I am a follower and I want to be appreciated for what I do. Everywhere we turn as networkers we aren't appreciated, people don't believe in what we do and it is nice to come to your mastermind group and feel appreciated and part of a caring team. Also I have a growing team. I know it will continue to grow. I want to know each and every person on my team. I want to know where they came from where they grew up, why they chose this business, what is their WHY. I want to know what they'll do after they are successful. I love each and everyone of them and I appreciate them and all they do. I believe in them!

Are You Spending Hundreds or even Thousands on Leads?


I first want to say that networking is NOT easy. You may have already known this. When we first get started into the business we are told to make a list of our family and friends. Most people know that this does NOT duplicate, that's why most of us here are marketing online because it didn't work with our warm or cold market face to face.


There may come a time when your personal sponsor asks you to purchase leads. Now what this means is you are supposedly paying for pre-qualified people who are already interested in what you have to offer them. Let's say you spend .50 cents a lead. Now I have talked with many people who were told to buy leads and a lot of these people called about 100 people a day. 100x .50= 50 That's $50. a day!! That's roughly about $800. a month! The names on these lists were anyone from young teenage girls or deceased people. Clearly these people were NOT pre-qualified.


I have many friends who all have spent thousands of dollars on buying leads and sometimes they would sponsor someone but most people can't duplicate buying leads, it's too expensive! So at the end of the day you spend way too much money buying them and then your new people can't do what you do. I also have some good friends that even refinanced their home! They thought they were doing the right thing, they were only doing what their upline had asked them to do. All of my friends are not making any money from what they did when they were buying leads.

Are You in Control or is Someone else?

I just thought about something and I just had to come to my blog and type it all out. You know how we talk about personal development all the time? We hear from our upline ALL THE TIME to do personal development and to improve ourselves? I'll be the first person to tell you that I Agree with them!! When I first got started in the business I thought to myself "I don't need That." But the truth is I do and so do you. It's all about our mindset and being in control of What we are thinking about. Is it positive or negative?

The reason I bring it up is because we need to think about our objective. In this business what is our objective, what are we thinking about? Of course we want to build our businesses, but is this all we think about? What about thinking about people and helping them? Can you imagine what a difference you can make if you just started thinking about others and not yourself. This concept took me a while to understand. I was so used to thinking about myself and getting my goals in so I could get my bonus check. I have to confess with the old thinking I never got anywhere. No one wanted to join me and my business never grew. But now that I don't focus on that anymore and I focus on building relationships and helping people get what They want, my business grows. Think about it...

You have to loose the agenda. You can't have a motive. Once you understand this, things will improve. I promise.

Network Marketing with a Horse?

Part of my Why is to have more time with family and to have the freedom that we want. I want some land and I want to have a couple of horses, I think it would be nice to teach our children responsibility and also allow them to have fun, if they would like.

I am currently purchased a horse from a friend of mine. I am getting a quarter horse palomino colt, he is only 2 months old. I know a lot about horses but there is still so much I have to learn, so I can teach this horse how I want him to behave. Having a 1100 lb. animal it's good to make sure he knows you're the boss!

I don't want much tv but lately I've been watching this tv channel on training horses and how to teach them what you want them to do. The main way to teach a horse is called approach and retreat. If a horse is head shy let's say and they move their head everytime you try to touch them, this can be dangerous. So you have to apply pressure to the horse or do constant movment to the horse UNTIL he quits moving or over reacting. So you approach with pressure and then you release when the horse behaves. This exercise looks like a lot of work and patience.

This reminds me of network marketing. When I am helping someone new with their business, I help them in small steps. The first time I talk to them I could tell them Everything I know in a couple of hours. But would that be fair to that person. No way! Just like having patience to train a horse, I have to have patience when training someone. I can't train a horse in 1 day, no it takes a while to train a horse the way you want it to be. I have to say I am passionate about horses and helping people. They both make me happy and I know I am fulfilling my purpose.

Back to the Approach and Retreat training with the horses. Approaching the situation can be like this business but you also have to retreat and drop it. In other words you train and teach but after that you have to retreat and take a break. There still may be more training but you set it up for another time. I know when I receive too much information I get overwelmed, I never want to give anyone that feeling. Yikes!

Do Your BEST and Forget the Rest!

There's something I want to talk about today that was presented to me yesterday. Do you ever join something, just say a business opportunity, and you feel like you've got to learn Every little thing before you can actually get started? I know I used to feel this way. I used to think I needed to know Everything about the opportunity and Everything about the product- Before I ever got started!

I found out later that this was part of my personality type. I am dominately a Sanguine and then Meloncholy. Meloncholy is the personality that you feel like you have to have all the details and understand everything to its fullest potential.

Once I worked that opportunity for a while, I realized it wasn't working. HHmmm, what's the problem? Finally I started getting educated about this industry and how it really works and how I could maximize my success with this industry.

I also learned that I didn't have to know Everything in the beginning. Instead I got started and I got connected with people online and I started building relationships. I wasn't concerned with all the details, and you want to know Why?

Because I knew if I didn't know the answer I had a huge group of team leaders that would help me get the answer and help me understand it. What a relief it was for me to just go ahead and start building and forget the rest. Reminds me of that saying "Do you best and forget the rest!" Too cool....

What's in Your Mind's Eye??

Today I want to talk about something I read in my personal development. I continue to study 'Think and Gow Rich' I truly believe its insights and I feel it is no just a book you read 1 time. Right now I am reading chapter 6 on Imagination.

When I think of the word imagination. It reminds me of when I was a child, maybe watching a kid learning station. You know the ones where you learn your ABC's and numbers and things. As a child I remember using your imagination. It's like playing a movie in your mind, something Colorful and Fun. You think of things that make you happy. You could be somewhere that you don't want to be, let's say school or at a baby sitters house, and you can just dream or imagine you are somewhere else, I think about Peter Pan when he said "think about your happy place."

What does Imagination have to do with building our business in network marketing? Dr. Hill says that Ideas are products of imagination. Ideas are the beginning points of all fortune. So it's important to imagine what we want out of life, this will help our minds create ideas and that will then lead us to making plans.

For me personally I use imagination daily. I think about how my life will be in about 5 years. I see my husband and I, I see our future children playing outside, I see we have built a home on 5 acres and we have animals around us. I am going to call it a farm. I see us living a stress-free life. We will own our lives, we are in control of ourselves. I love thinking about my future. Doing this excercise, helps me stay focused on what I need to be working on. I need to work on myself and my business. I have a plan that I use, and I will continue to use it.

No Pain, No Gain!

Have you heard the saying " No Pain, No Gain" ? I was thinking about this old saying for a few minutes and I had a thought that I wanted to share with you. You know most people work a normal 9-5 job. They work for someone else. The other people are the employers, they are the boss who hire the workers. This type of income is called Linear income, it means you trade time for money. So most people would say if you want to be successful or have "Gain" you need to work really hard for it and put in the "Pain".

Think of the word "pain". I don't like that word at ALL! I looked up the synonyms for it and it uses the words: grief, sorrow, anguish, ache, torture. Yikes! Those are terrible!

How does this connect with the business we're in called network marketing? I want to say that I LOVE this business, I think it's the best there is out there, so do you think I feel "Pain" while I work my business- No way!

I remember when I first got started in mlm a couple of years ago. I was told to make a list of my family and friends. I did that for a couple of years and you know what? I experienced Pain, and I hated it because I was rejected over and over and over again. Finally I thought " I know this business works, I know this is my future, there HAS to be an EASIER way!"

So here I just want to say I no longer experience this Pain while working my business. I haven't felt this pain in almost a year. Now, I love what I do, I LOVE this business, and I really enjoy sharing what I've learned with other people.

What creates Power in Your Business?

I want to talk about Specialized Knowledge. There are 2 different types of knowledge: General and Specialized.

General knowledge- no matter how much knowledge you have- it is of little use in accumulating money. It is said that "knowledge is power" but this quote is false. It is only power WHEN it is organized into definate plans and is directed to an end. So really the correct way to say it is "Applied knowledge is power". Once you put your knowledge to use then you start to create results.

Dr. Hill also mentions that successful men NEVER stop acquiring specialized knowledge related to their major purpose or profession. I thought this statement was huge. We never want to quit learning. For me, my purpose is to serve God and to create a life of abundance in network marketing. So I see the important of the mastermind group and communicating about knowledge. I am going to be successful so I want to never quit learning and apply what I learn about this industry. I stay plugged into the system and stay connected with like minded people that encourage me and make me a stronger individual. So I want to learn as much as I can about this industry and continue to grow through my personal development. That's why we always hear Michael say " To have more you must become more." It makes sense, it's just that simple.

Which is more important: Income or Stability?

Hi everyone! Theres something I want to talk about today. Some may disagree with me here but the past couple of weeks I've been listening to a series of cds that were created by Art Jonak. In these cds Art is interviewing Randy Gage, Michael Clouse, Jordan Alder. There is so much wisdom that I learned from these cds. I choose to listen to these people because they can talk the talk and walk the walk. They have built their organizations huge, and it didn't happen just because they were the first in the company or they just got lucky. They built it one person at a time.

What I'd like to ask here is Which is better- building Width or Depth? I know many people will have a different view on this but I think it's important to consider. It is said that Width creates the income it creates the fast pay back. It's also said the Depth creates stability and security.

Some people it is easy to sponsor a lot of people and placing them on their front line will create more income. However, say that person sponsors someone and that person has a hard time duplicating. Let's say they don't believe in themselves or they allow themselves to be too busy to be able to work their business, they may not realize that but it's something that is holding them back. But they are still putting forth effort and they WANT to improve and they are always on the conference calls. Their "hunger" is there. Let's say you bring in another person and instead of putting them on your front line you put them under the person that is working hard. Imagine how it makes that person feel?! You might make less money but you are helping your team. It's not short term gratification but it will be in the long run. Your prospect is starting to see the train moving forward. Also this helps create Faith that this business does work. Then they start gaining confidence in themselves and they start working harder on themselves (doing personal development) and working harder on their business. And we all work together to sponsor the next person. You just keep building depth.

Of course at this point it's important to know what kind of comp. plan your company uses. And know how deep your company will pay you. If you need help in this area please feel free to contact me and my team and I will help you the best that we can.

That's Why they call it NetWORK Marketing

I've been in this industry about 3 years now. There have been a lot of trial and error with my learning process, but I am happy to say I have finally found a proven system that allows me to duplicate.

As you may have noticed there are a lot of people that promote getting 100s of leads a day or getting 20 new people to join their opportunity a month. Do these advertising tricks work? Yes, they do. Why? Because people don't want to do the work! The sad thing is- these are false advertisments. You can get 100s of leads but do you really expect people to join you? I don't think so.

If you want to be a part of something based on integrity then get Educated. And find a supportive team that will help you build. Focus on People- that should be your main concern. Not getting 100s of leads. Imagine if you could focus on 10 people a day. And you took the time to get to know them, with no motive. Don't you think these people would appreciate what you are doing, because you are taking time to get to know THEM? What you are doing is separating yourself from everyone else and making people smile and feel good about themselves. Think about it..

All we see online are people Spamming other innocent people. Maybe some people will join them, but what about the relationship that needs to be created? And where is the part where people get to know each other and trust is established?

They call this business netWORK marketing because it takes work and if you are willing to invest time and energy into getting to know people, your business will grow. I know it has for me, and the reason it has is because I truly want to help people and they know it. They know I will help them until they reach their goals. We are going to grow together.

I know what it's like to be frustrated in this business, shucks- I struggled with it for 2 years and thats all I needed to know I was working it the wrong way.

My first Blog-Enjoy!

Hi Everyone! Thanks for taking the time to read my Blog. This is my first attempt at blogging so bear with me. : )

First off, my name is Stefanie Sanspree. I live in south Alabama. I've been here all of my life and I love it. I am happily married to my best friend Jason. We enjoy eating out, seeing movies, doing landscaping on our property. We also enjoy boating and playing with our 2 dogs- a german shepherd named Brodie and a dachshund named Chipper. We also have 1 cat named Gracey and we just added a new member to our family and his name is Gunner. He is a Quarter Horse palomino color. In about 2 years I'll be able to ride him. He is a part of my "Why".

My "Why" is something I talk about often in my business. My business is network marketing or as some call it "mlm". Your "Why" is so important because it helps you remember why you are doing this business. I believe it is so important to know where you're going and what you want to do with you life. What do you want to do with all your free time after you've retired from your business? Think about it..
